“Hope” is the thing with feathers
“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all –
And sweetest – in the Gale – is heard –
And sore must be the storm –
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm –
I’ve heard it in the chillest land –
And on the strangest Sea –
Yet – never – in Extremity,
It asked a crumb – of me.
Christmas may bring it’s joys and blessings but often the world and personal issues can quickly rob us of happiness.
it is when the Christmas joys fade and the new year looms ahead we could stop and reflect on what hope is for us, recalling the first candle of the Advent. https://www.christianity.com/wiki/holidays/what-is-the-candle-of-hope-for-advent-week-1.html?amp=1
